Dominican Hair SalonOk Ladies, I am going there! The Dominican Hair Salon, we have all seen them. The ones with names like Clarissa’s or Elia’s Dominican Style Hair Salon. Just so you know… I am hispanic so, this is not racist, this is honest!
I go to a Dominican Hair Salon (New Image Salon, 547 Court St., Brooklyn, NY)…yes, I do! My weekly blow out is $20 and lasts (so long as I powder and touch up in the morning).
The Dominican Hair Salon is where you go to for a cheap weekly blow out & know that this is just what you get there. You may have arrived in $20 blow out heaven…seriously!

Pros:
Cheap – usually these salons are cheap, blow outs can be $18-$25. Hair cuts can be $30 and color $40.
Honestly, if you have very curly hair, this might be the best place for your blow out.
Wash – they usually wash your hair 2 times and then condition.

Cons:
Not a one stop shopping kinda place (not usually a cutting edge, place to go for a cut or color). Get your blow out (bring a book) and run!

First come first serve, and then some… Basically you can be there for 3 hours for a blow dry…ADM (Aye Dio Mio : Oh My God). It’s true!

Dominican Hair Product

The products are usually from DR and are made with natural oils like avacado, olive or coconut. Can be good for thick, course hair…BUT, way to heavy of a product for most. I don’t like greasy, heavy looking hair, come on I want light, soft hair, don’t you?

Be very specific about what you want and don’t want

Good Luck and let me know how it goes. You might be pleasantly surprised!

New Image Salon, 547 Court St ask for rollers, no special conditioner (only regular), then after the dryer ask the woman to pin your hair. You could explain that you want it like mine. They know me by name ;) It’s $20 and $22 if you put it on a debit or credit card.
