From the Victoria Secret runway, to Gossip Girl, to the streets, the tousled look is “the look” to achieve. It screams sexy, sophisticated and celebrity! We spoke to celebrity stylists to find out how to achieve this look and if we could do it ourselves and guess what… Celebrity stylists revealed the secret to the tousled look and we are sharing it with you.

Step 1: Wash and condition your hair, towel dry and add your favorite leave-in conditioner

Step 2: Separate your hair into sections (6-8 sections is usually enough)

Step 3: With a large round brush, starting at the front of your head, blow dry one section

Step 4: Once this section is smooth, take your curling iron and roll the now dry section into the curling iron, starting at the root and circling your hair around the curling iron (the tip of your hair should be at the tip of the curling iron). Hold for 10-15 seconds…

Step 5: Release the hair roll it back up and pin it to your head (it should look like a small roller is on your head).

Step 6: Repeat to all sections of your hair. Once all sections are done you can add some hair spray if you want the curl to hold longer. (I personally like the curl to drop, to look more like a wave, so I don’t add the spray)

Step 7: Set your hair dryer to cool and use the dryer to go over all of your pinned hair. This allows your hair to set.

Step 8: Remove all of the pins and add your favorite shine product, (only a small amount, you don’t want to weigh your hair down with product) starting from the tips and working your way up with your hands only. Do not use a brush from this point on.

Step 9: Use your fingers to lightly brush through your hair and create the part you are most comfortable with (I personally like a middle part for the tousled look, I think it looks balanced).

Step 10: Go out and flaunt your tousled look, celebrity styled, hair and it’s up to you whether you will share this hair secret with your friends… I totally heart this look!
