Phythéol Intense Anti-Dandruff Treatment Shampoo is a great treatment for Psoriasis! It's a treatment shampoo that eliminates dry or oily dandruff while preventing it from recurring.

Psoriasis is a disease that has no cure. I use to have it on my elbows and from a modified diet and “Almond Glo” as a topical it did go away. However, I continue to have Psoriasis on my scalp, which totally sucks! I have used a few different Psoriasis shampoos with little to no results. So, I recently heard that Phyto has a good product.

Phythéol Intense Anti-Dandruff Treatment Shampoo ($24 Sephora.com)
A treatment shampoo that eliminates dry or oily dandruff while preventing it from recurring.
What it does:
This shampoo is specially formulated to treat even the most severe cases of dry or oily dandruff, eczema, or psoriasis in record time. The treatment combines active soothing and purifying ingredients to relieve serious scalp itchiness while effectively eliminating and preventing the reappearance of dandruff.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan
Research results:
A study carried out by dermatologists showed that after a month 83%** of subjects no longer had dandruff and the effect remained for two months after stopping treatment.

I am sold and will try it! I hate looking like I have dandruff Wish me luck!

Let me know if you have any good Psoriasis remedies…

The Fall is here and that means kids are going back to school. My niece Ava Dilone, who is going to Kindergarden, was due for a back to school hair cut and went to her fav spot Mini Max Toys and Cuts, located at 152 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. Hair cuts are $22 and if you have twins the second one is half off… I thought that was cute

Ava loves the special attention she gets from her stylist, Danielle – she specializes in curly hair. Kids get to sit in a chair that looks like a car and put on their favorite cartoon and 10% off a store purchase. They use Fairy Tales hair products, which smell yummy and are made with natural ingredients. Ava uses the Coco Cabana Leave-In Sun Spray (8oz) : $10.95 is amazing for curly locks.

Teri LaVerne and John Amato are the founders of Rare El’ements, the luxury hair care collection that is an anti-aging phenomenon for your hair!

My favorite is the Rare El’ements El’Treatment ($44). It is a pre-shampoo treatment that you apply to dry hair. You basically just add a 2-3 pumps to your hands and run through from scalp to tips. If your ends are really done, then add a little extra…

Finally you brush through with a boar bristle brush and leave on for at least 15 minutes. Then wash and condition. Your hair will be shiny and healthy looking after only one use. AND I am all about instant gratification!

They also have a Pure Shampoo and Essential Conditioner, but if you are in the market for only one new, fabulous product – then go for the pre-shampoo El’Treatment for sure!!!

Check out the website Rare El’ements and let me know what you think. Available to buy online.

Tyler Wisler - Hair Evolution

“The last haircut I got was at KIWA salon on 27th Street. First time there… Not bad. My primary reason for going there was that it is basically a Japanese salon. The stylists are all Asian so they understand the difficulties/benefits to the texture of my hair. I went there because I read reviews online that they did a great jobs with perms. YES my hair has a perm in it! I think it was pretty successful! Otherwise my hair is pin straight!

I started growing out my hair in December… Prior to that it was a barber shop trim every two weeks like clockwork. Super short on the side with some length on top to play with… I actually started growing out my hair with the anticipation that I would make it in Design Star this year because I knew if I made the show I wouldn’t be able to maintain the super short look, and didn’t want to look shaggy. Is that crazy? Before I even auditioned for the show I was mentally preparing for the looks of my hair! Talk about OCD with the hair!

Johnny Depp

I have no idea what my final look is going to be… A Johnny Depp/Michael Hutchence (INXS) kind of look maybe… I want to be able to at least start pulling the top half back with an elastic. I honestly don’t know. I could watch something on TV tonight and chop it all… I’m crazy like that, and LOVE rocking different looks…

Favorite products right now with my length… I’m using KMS Salt Spray all over with KMS Paste on the top to control it a bit more… Both products have a matte and manageable finish so it doesn’t look too set…” – Tyler

KMS Sea Salt Spray

147 Sullivan Street, between Houston and Prince Streets

Mel’s urge to pretty up canvases came from spying on the misguided in her parent’s
very own Jersey hair salon. She saw hairdos that both horrified yet inspired her!
With that Mel created Criminal Cuts (www.criminalcuts.com) – a renegade hair
movement for those who wanted rocker coifs with a little edge…but not too much!

Stay tuned for Mel’s guest blog posts on SBS…

Which brush is best for you???

Ever notice how many brushes your stylist has…and wonder, which one is the best? Well, that is sort of a trick question, because they all are! Depending on your hair type, that is. Which brush is best for you???

Oval Mixed Bristle Brush

#1 Oval, Mixed Bristle Brush (Boar and Nylon)

For: All Hair Types
The mixed bristles will both distribute your natural oils and take out your knots.
Don’t use for blow drying your hair, the base is made out of rubber and can melt…sticky situation!

Round Boar Bristle Brush

#2 Round, Boar-Bristle Brush

For: Straightening Thick, Curly Hair
This is great for a smooth finish and used frequently by stylists when doing blow outs.
Don’t use this brush unless you know how to handle it, as you may cause more knots and get all tangled ( lol I’m serious!)

Vent Brush

#3 Vent Brush

For: Short hair
Wide set bristles that will give volume
Don’t use this brush if you have long hair, you will just make a mess

Round Mixed Bristle with Ceramic Barrel Brush

#4 Round, Mixed Bristle Brush with Ceramic Barrel (My personal Fav)

For: Anyone looking for some (Oomph) Volume!
Lifts at the root, while smoothing with ceramic. I call this the Victoria Secret blow Out brush
Don’t use this if you have short hair or if you don’t want to be whistled at…
