Dear SBS Readers,

The Bumble & Bumble Model Project located in the Meat Packing District has the WORST Customer Service!!! I left work (59th Street & 3rd) and took the E train down time for a 11:30am Color Class.

When I arrived at the BBU building I took the elevator up to the Model Project floor. I rushed over to the counter, only to be ignored. Then when the girl (clearly a beauty school drop out turned beauty school receptionist) finally acknowledged me with an attitude, I tell her I am here for a Color Class. She says it started already, so I look at my Iphone and show her the fact that it was only 11:31am. She then said I guess I will reschedule you. I told her, I am 1 minute late, she then proceeds to tell me that the class has already started. Anyway, after that I turned away and walked out.

I have sent an email to tell them how upset I am. I mean honestly, I traveled for 40 minutes on the train to be turned away for being 1 minute late. RIDICULOUS!!! Then I realized that lots of people have had bad experiences there too!

This Mother’s Day, give the gift that keeps on giving…all week long! My mother loves a good Blow Dry and this Mother’s Day…I’m gonna get her one. You should too! Who doesn’t love a fabulous blow dry, especially one that lasts a few days.

Upper East side, NYC Blow is the place to go…(cheesy I know). They do a 30 minute blow dry, for the time conscious working girl that is Victoria Secret, sexy. Buy one for the Mother in your life

I am gonna buy one for myself too! Check out http://www.blowny.com/ and find one near you or the one you love. It’s not cheap, but your worth it, right?

Happy Mother’s Day to all and to all a good Blow Dry!!!

Located next to Hermès on Madison Avenue in New York City, the Rodolfo Valentin Salon is a hidden gem, exclusive to the elite, or so I thought. I was invited to the salon for a hair cut with the master himself and couldn’t wait!
Walking in you realize you are entering his world, one of beauty and glamour. He and his staff offer the crème de la crème in customer service, talent and they are all calienté (hot)!
After I get my hair washed by an El Salvadorian import, I finally get to meet Rodolfo Valentin…in the flesh!
Rodolfo is not only regarded as one of the most talented hair stylists in the world, he also wins multiple awards each year to further prove his talent. He loves his salon in NYC & Long Island (which is 10,000 sq. ft.) and is passionate about his charity.
Named after his mother, Sofia’a Hair for Health is a project he holds near and dear.
I saw women of all ages with Cancer, thanking him for hair extensions and wigs that made them look amazing and feel healthy and beautiful again!
I had so much fun getting my own hair cut (as you can see from the picture my hair looked fabulous)! I fell in love with Rodolfo who even shared his secret to a tight stomach with me (“suck it in…always”).

Check out the website for the full menu Rodolfo Valentin Salon and Spa offers. You will be happy you did… As a New Yorker I felt like I discovered yet another reason to love New York. Thank you Rodolfo!

Now go visit the salon…tell them SocialButterflySalon sent you!

Hairstylists want you to understand their jobs and how to get the most out of your time in their chair.

10 Things Your Hairstylists Want YOU to Know…

Hairstylists want you to understand their jobs and how to get the most out of your time in their chair.

1. I’m a beautician, not a magician. I can give you a super model’s haircut, but I can’t give you her face.

2. Come at least five minutes early. If you’re running late, please call and let the salon know! Basic r-e-s-p-e-c-t. This is a REAL business!

3. Don’t ask me to “squeeze” you in when I’m already booked. I’d be taking away from other clients. Would you like to be treated that way???

4. Your body and hair change as your hormones do. If your hair is dry, listless, or brittle, or if it’s not holding your color or style the way it used to, see a doctor. Unless your hair is over-processed, you could be pregnant or menopausal (YIKES!).

5. A trim is not “just” a trim. It requires my expertise, skill, knowledge, and time. Would you say to your plastic surgeon, “It’s just a face lift,”?

6. That dollar bill into the shampoo person’s hands isn’t doesn’t buy anything and quite frankly is ridiculous… You should tip her at least $3.

7. If you want to buy a bottle of color and do your own hair to save a buck, you can’t complain when your hair looks like crap… Especially to me!

8. Some clients will say, “Cut my hair just like you did last time.” That always makes me laugh. The last time I saw you was six to eight weeks ago, REALLY?! I have hundreds of clients. Am I supposed to remember exactly how I did your hair the last time? If you want a carbon copy of a cut and style you loved, take a picture and show me.

9. Why do you think a child’s haircut should cost so much less than yours? Kids don’t sit still. Kids kick and scream AND the prices are not negotiable.

10. We see women at their worst. Their hair is wet, they have foils on their hair, they have no makeup on. There’s nothing for them to hide behind. So they tell us everything and that’s OK as long as they don’t want the same from me

I was so impressed by these full custom lace wigs by Rodolfo Valentin, I had to share… His hair wigs can be worn for weeks at a time. As most celebrities do! Rodolfo Valentin, in NYC does fabulous, lace wigs that are so natural looking it’s amazing!

His lace front wigs are carefully handmade for flexibility in style and design. AND when I say they are handmade, I mean literally – strand by strand, one hair at a time – love it!

Never say… “I wish I had her hair”…BUY IT!!!
