The Hair Battle Spectacular premiere is August 10th and I can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen and to who

Hosted by actress Brooke Burns, this competition series pits 10 of America’s hottest stylists against each other to see who can deliver the biggest and best in fantasy hair design.

After each challenge, the judges — award-winning fantasy hair designer Derek J, celebrity stylist Lindsay Albanese and a rotating guest judge — critique the designers on creativity, execution and overall presentation.

In addition to blow-by-blow drama in the arena, there is also the day-to-day drama between the co-habitating stylists who fight each week to stay in the game and win the ultimate prize of $100,000.

Ok I, like most, LOVE Kathy Griffin! She is funny, really funny. Maybe not the best looking girl in the world, however she has a physically fit bod. My biggest concern is that hair. The red-orange color, heavy bangs and lots of product and frizz is just not a good look for anyone. Is it part of her D-List character? Really, I am being serious here. Who is her hairstylist and why would they color, cut and style her hair that way?

Sorry for this but, I just can’t take it any more. Give the girl some good hair. C’mon people! This just isn’t right So, you ask what would I recommend?

Here it goes… She can stay a red head, but needs to tone it down a notch. Make the color richer, condition the crap out of it and grow out those bangs. Then get a softer look and a fabulous blow dry. When I think of gorgeous red hair, I think of Julianne Moore.

Kathy, we know you can do it!!! We believe in you.

Ok New Jersey, here it goes… The moment everyone is waiting for… The Hair Report Card that will hurt a little, but help a lot Please keep in mind that I love you girls, but like Caroline, I am a believer in tough love! Here goes nuttin’

Danielle Staub: B-

Not as bad as her behavior , her hair has tooo many extensions, but is shiny and the color is pretty good.

Teresa Guidice: C

The color is good for her, but…needs to be heavily conditioned and possibly a Keratin treatment would do the trick! The products she uses are to harsh for her hair. Sorry Teresa, although I once hailed a cab for you in NYC, just need to work the hair a little!

Caroline Manzo: C+

The color suits her, but the look is dated. Less product and more of a sleek hair do would sharpen her look and make her look ab fab!

Dina Manzo: B-

Looks good as a blond! But, doesn’t need the bangs. AND hate to sound like a broken record, BUT too much product. She could just do long layers and rock it out like a blond Kardashian…

Jacqueline Laurita: A-

Best hair as far as shine and she can pull off the length, but she needs a really good hair cut and should part her hair in the middle. She should do the same hair do as Chloe Kardashian!
Well to some it up… I would love to do a little one-on-one hair style consultation with each of The Real Housewives of New Jersey and take their look to the next level.

xoxo

We just got some interesting time-saving information from Macadamia Natural Oil on how using the Healing Oil Treatment literally reduces drying time. Since we’re all so busy these days, what woman wouldn’t want to save some time while blowing out her hair?

Macadamia Oil is rich in Omega 7 and therefore mimics our bodies own natural oil. Macadamia Natural Oil uses only the finest ingredients consisting of a superior blend of macadamia nut oil and argan oil which cuts down drying time.

Here’s how:
The hair shaft is made up of three layers, the cuticle, the medulla, and the cortex. The cuticle layer of a single hair shaft is the outermost layer and resembles scales on a fish. More often than not, water gets trapped under these ” scales” and this is what takes hair so long to dry. If you filled this space with a healthy, rich, lightweight and super absorbent oil, the water will avoid the area since we all know water and oil don’t mix. As a result the water being dried is the surface water only and precisely how drying time is cut in half.

The grades are in for the Real Housewives of New York! I am a fan of the show and since I am from New York myself think over-all, they have the best hair of all of the Housewives.

The grades are in for the Real Housewives of New York! I am a fan of the show and since I am from New York myself - over-all, they have the best hair of all of the Housewives. However, I am going to grade all of the housewives hair. So stay tuned…

Sonja Morgan: B+
I recently saw her in NYC and her hair looked soft and very light blond. Which is hard to achieve.

Alex McCord: C
Although she lives in Brooklyn like me, I think her hair could be better. She needs a major conditioning treatment. Sorry Alex…

Bethenny Frankel: A-
She seems to have healthy, shiny hair. I also think the color suits her perfectly.

Jill Zarin: B-
The cut is a bit dated. But she gets a B- for effort.

Kelly Killoren Bensimon: A
Not everyone’s favorite but, she does have the best hair…

LuAnn de Lesseps: B
I like the color and cut for her. I think even shorter would work better!

Ramona Singer: B-
I like the new do, but, she needs a little more polishing.

Again, these girls all look good! I just have to put in my 2 cents. That is what us bloggers do

This year in hair products has been full, messy, wavy and filled with natural ingredients. SocialButterflySalon.com (SBS) has decided to highlight a few of what we think are our favs. Try then out and let us know what are your favs!

#1 Product of the Year…Dry Shampoo: This was the most talked about product this year…Everyone put out a dry shampoo. If you haven’t bought one yet, this is a great product and you have to have one in your home. Use to boost volume or to fake a fresh blow-out after a few days… bend over and blast roots with dry shampoo.

#2 Shine On: Finishes styles with; an allover spritz of sheen, shine and softness. With or without wax Really a classic helper of all girls and boys alike, get your shine on! Again, each company has a shine serum, shine spray or whatever other clever name they could come up with.

#3 Light weight Hairspray: Holding power, classic – light, high-gloss shine to dull strands, don’t over use still. Lots of new formulas.

#4 The Flat Iron: Big, small, porcelin, metal, whatever, this does the pro-styling for the non-pro. Really good at getting strays along the hairline, the whole head Invest in one of these and reap the rewards in the summer. This literally kills the frizz…

#5 All-Natural Shampoos and Conditioners: Great for color-treated hair, damaged hair and healthy hair alike. We all felt a little more GREEN this year with our “all-natural” products, did we not?

#6 The Classic RoundBrush: Excellent for styling, blow-dries and just about everything else too! The absolute must have of all. How can you live without one???

I have done multiple posts on using Olive Oil as part of your hair remedy. Overall, there are many different home remedies you can try and most of them do not take long to make.

They are natural and so they are gentle on your hair, and your hair will really appreciate the lack of chemicals!

The Olive Oil hair mask is created by using 5 tablespoons of olive oil with two eggs. Mix them both together and apply them to the hair, wrapping the hair in a plastic wrap or a shower cap. Allow it to stand for 15 minutes before thoroughly rinsing it off.

What is your remedy for dry hair?

Get the sexy, tousled look, with out that dried out look…BioSilk’s Beach Texture is an inexpensive solution. Tousled hair is still HOT, especially in the summer!

Plus, you don’t have to use the hair dryer, so this is a great way to help your hair heal from all of that “sun-kissed” highlighting you have done. I have always liked BioSilk’s scent and light feeling. This product does what it says and doesn’t cost much. Amazon.com has it for $10.80. Enough to last the rest of the summer

BioSilk Beach Texture contains natural silk, vitamins and texturing salts all formulated to give you the look everyone is after. I also love the BioSilk Therapy for a smoother look…

What’s your Summer Hair Rehab???

Dear SBS Readers,

The Bumble & Bumble Model Project located in the Meat Packing District has the WORST Customer Service!!! I left work (59th Street & 3rd) and took the E train down time for a 11:30am Color Class.

When I arrived at the BBU building I took the elevator up to the Model Project floor. I rushed over to the counter, only to be ignored. Then when the girl (clearly a beauty school drop out turned beauty school receptionist) finally acknowledged me with an attitude, I tell her I am here for a Color Class. She says it started already, so I look at my Iphone and show her the fact that it was only 11:31am. She then said I guess I will reschedule you. I told her, I am 1 minute late, she then proceeds to tell me that the class has already started. Anyway, after that I turned away and walked out.

I have sent an email to tell them how upset I am. I mean honestly, I traveled for 40 minutes on the train to be turned away for being 1 minute late. RIDICULOUS!!! Then I realized that lots of people have had bad experiences there too!
