Sandra Bullock had a deep, perfect side part with only a slight, wave. She had lots of shine and her hair was healthy looking and screamed WINNER!

Then we had the fun and flirty Cameron Diaz! She was the whole package for me. Her hair had volume, waves, good color and a natural side part. She looked fabulous and happy! This is a look that totally put her up for nomination of the Best Oscar’s hair style award.

However, my favorite and the winner for 2010 Best Oscar’s Hair Style was…drum roll…Kate Winslet!!! Looking classic 40’s with her Veronica Lake inspired hair style. I absolutely loved the old-world movie star, glam! Wow, how regal and statues.

Then we decide since we have been together so long we should do a quick City Hall thing (in May 2010), then a small dinner Party and Honeymoon in Spain/Morocco.

Till… we see the Ultimate Wedding contest on Crate and Barrel. We had to do it! We figured this would be a one in a million shot, but, how cool would it be if we actually won!

1.  Use a comb with a rat tail or a fine toothed comb to create a clean, deep part in your hair. 

2.  Section off a 1″ inch section of hair (section smaller for tighter curls and larger for looser curls).

3.  Comb the section until smooth, Spray the section with water or hairspray.

4.  Hold the section of hair flatly against your scalp with one finger and then take the end of the section and wind in a clockwise position around the opposite index finger forming a complete circle.

5.  Holding the end of the curl with the thumb of the same hand, slip the curl off the index finger letting the end naturally fold inward.

6. Continuing to hold the curl between the thumb and forefinger, finish winding it and place it flat against the scalp.

7. Once the curl is formed according to your desire, use a single or double pronged clip and slide it carefully over the newly formed curl to hold it in place.  Clip it with a hair clip or two through the middle of the curl to form an X. 

Tips: 

Be sure not to twist the hair as you wind it & make sure that the ends are tucked inside of the curl.

Place pin right on top of your natural hair base.

Do not pin the curl away from the base of the curl.

Work in a uniform pattern when creating the curls working from side to side and from top to bottom of the head.

When styling, unclip one curl at a time and use fingers to arrange the curls in the desired style.

It doesn’t make the stylists any less nervous to know that Tabatha Coffey, former Shear Genius contestant and star of Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, is their guest judge for the challenge. Will the stylists live up to her high standards? And Adee seems to be a deer in headlights when he finds his talent hinders him from getting back to the basics of hair cutting. Will he be able pull it all together?

The trend that will run into the summer for sure! That’s here for a limited time and sure to be a big hit everywhere…DRUM ROLL… Bow Headbands?!

RULE: They have to be big and beautiful & NOT cheesy or cheap.
Ahh, I remember first seeing the hair bow on Lady Gaga, then I noticed the big bow on the top of Brig’s head (Shear Genius Contestant).  The trend goes on and on…

I will personally throw the Marc by Marc Jacobs Bow Headband on my head. Check it out!

Hair stylist, Fabien Lliguin ventures to the Amazon. He notices the native women’s hair had wonderful luster and strength. He finds out their secret lies in a serum extracted from the Rahua nut. And, the rest is history!
